Mitchell Levy on How to Build a Business Using Books

I talked to Mitchell Levy, who runs a company focused on creating books to help various businesspeople create credibility as “thought leaders”/experts in their field. Although an unusual interview for me, when Mitchell’s people approached me it occurred to me that he might have some interesting things to say about the divide between how other industries see books and how authors and the publishing industry views books.

I have a new book publishing this year, THE NATIONAL GALLERY. See what award-winning filmmaker Guy Maddin (MY WINNIPEG) has to say about it and get a sneak peek at my favourite poem here!!!

An odd disconnect I have noticed is that, for writers and publishers, books are considered a risky and difficult business where few people make money. Outside of writing and publishing, books are considered one of the most powerful ways to develop a business and make money.

What explains this weird disconnect? Mitchell and I discuss this, plus the topic of ghostwriting, and delve a little into how authors are, whether they like it or not, entrepreneurs and need a business model.
