This week, I talk to Martine Friesen of the Manitoba Arts Council about grants for writers and other artists, both in general and in terms of some of the specific new initiatives by the Manitoba Arts Council. More information on the grants programs from the Manitoba Arts Council is available here.
The podcast interview is below, and also available wherever you get your podcasts: iTunes | Stitcher | GooglePlay | SoundCloud
Additionally, I am offering a sample of my successful grant proposal to both the Manitoba Arts Council and the Winnipeg Arts Council. With this proposal, I received a combined $15,000 to finish my short story collection, The Lightning of Possible Storms, which will be published by Book*hug Press in Fall 2020.
The sample, with my commentary, will help show you how to write your grant proposals more effectively, for greater success. It’s available freely, when you join my author newsletter, where I share information on my projects and tips for writers who want to write better, edit faster, and be more productive by experimenting with new styles and systems.
