About Me
I’m the author or editor of multiple books, including works of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. I write comics and screenplays as well, and offer writing courses and mentorship in private programs and through universities in Winnipeg. I’m owner and publisher of Stranger Fiction Inc. and Martian Embassy Media.

I spent most of my childhood in rural Ontario, moved to Winnipeg when I was eighteen, and have lived there ever since (aside from four years of school in Calgary).
I completed BA and MA at the University of Manitoba, where I worked with George Toles, and then completed a PhD in English, with focuses in Creative Writing and Canadian Literature, at the University of Calgary while working with Suzette Mayr and advisors Robert Majzels, Shabo Xie, and Christian Bök. My PhD studies were supported by a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship.
I focus on writing what I call “Stranger Fiction,” which takes lessons from poetry, nonfiction, and experimental art and applies them to genre horror, science fiction, and fantasy.
As a freelance writer and editor, I specialize in grant writing, copywriting, and book editing.
